Meet Up and Move

At King Health for Women,  we believe, “power arises when women come together and support other women” That’s why we host monthly Meet Up and Move events, providing a space for women to unite and support one another’s health journeys. Each event begins with a group meet-up at the front of our building, located at 2417 North Front Street in Harrisburg. From there, we embark on a riverside walk, finishing back at King Health for Women for additional Meet Up time. Every month, we feature discussions on a selected book or invite a guest speaker to share insights on Metabolic Health. Attendees are encouraged to network, explore our clinic, and learn more about how metabolic health can enhance their well-being. While registration is not required, it helps us with space planning, promotions, and event sponsorship.

April’s Book of the Month “Estrogen Matters”

“Estrogen Matters,” co-authored by oncologist Dr. Avrum Bluming and psychologist Dr. Carol Tavris, challenges prevailing misconceptions about hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and advocates for its benefits in menopausal women. The authors argue that fears linking estrogen therapy to breast cancer and other health risks have been overstated, largely due to misinterpretations of studies like the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI). They present evidence suggesting that estrogen can alleviate menopausal symptoms, protect against heart disease, maintain bone density, and potentially reduce the risk of cognitive decline.
